The dutch lap siding profile is very similar to traditional shiplap and channel rustic siding except there is a radius section on the upper leading edge of each board. Dutch (or German/Dutch) Lap siding is installed exactly like shiplap so it is very good at sealing out wind, rain, and other natural elements. This unique profile will give your custom home an attractive unique shadow line.

If you plan on using solid color paint on your cypress dutch lap siding, we highly recommend factory finishing each board (covering front, edges, back and ends) with a high-quality oil based primer. The oil in the primed penetrates the wood and protects more than just the surface of the board from moisture but also protects the wood from harmful UV rays. Once primed the siding can be installed giving you a 30-45 day window to apply the top coat of paint. Note: As an option, we can factory apply the primer and one coat of solid color top coat so that the last coat can be applied in the field for maximum protection.
